41 weeks 1 day

I visited the midwife again today, and the good news is that baby has turned over. I have more exercises to do now to keep baby rolled over but I am a lot more happy about things. My blood pressure and baby's heart beat was all fine so that's all good!

Just need to keep waddling along until Wednesday now and keep at my exercises.

Week 41 - Will this ever end?

What can I say? I am seven days overdue and no amount of running up, and down, stairs, walking or... ummm... hot baths... yes, hot baths, is making this baby come out. I was at the midwife last week and she has said that baby is lying back to back, I asked if this was a bad thing, she didn't go into much detail, but said I should do things to encourage it to turn. So I have been exercising, sitting properly and spending some time on all fours to try to encourage baby to turn the right way round. Thing is as she was a bit vague on why I should get it to turn I didn't think it was all that important until reading up I found out that when the contractions come, they will be from my back, and it can make labour a lot longer. I'm not overly impressed with my midwives, they really don't make this easy for a first time Mum.

But yes, as I was saying, I'm one week over and apart from doing everything possible to hurry this along - I feel pretty horrid. My cankles are getting bigger by the day and I just feel so tired that even going upstairs feels like a big effort half of the time. The sympathetic head tilts and the "awww poor you" from anyone I meet is little consolation for the fact that this baby doesn't want to come and it doesn't make me feel the slightest bit better. But I suppose all this will soon be a distant memory when the baby arrives and I am up to my neck in nappies.

I have however been given a date to go into hospital to be induced, so next Wednesday (4th June) if baby has not made an appearance I will be heading into hospital. So at least the end is in sight now and hopefully this time next week I will be at home with a baby in my arms.

Anyway less blogging more bouncing!

Week 39 Blues

Well this is week 39 and what can I say, my toes are like a distant memory but a trip to get a pedicure at least I know they look nice, and before anyone thinks how do I know they are not like florescent I stuck them out in front of me on a stool and saw them.

Things are getting very uncomfortable now, getting a lot of pelvic pain when I stand and walking has become a waddle, but my bump is dropping so baby is getting into position so it could be any time really. Will be glad to have baby it's not been a long nine months but the last week or so things have been a real effort.

I am all ready for baby now, well I say all ready, I'm as ready as I can be. The nursery is long done and the nappies I ordered at the baby exhibition arrived recently so all we need now is the baby.
